Round 7 - Ask to Remove Our Shortcomings

Removing the Character Traits That Keep Us from Becoming More Like Christ
In our journey toward lasting freedom, God desires to do far more than remove destructive habitsโ€”He wants to transform our hearts. In Round 7, we learn that pride, anger, fear, selfishness, bitterness, and other shortcomings can keep us from becoming the men and women God created us to be. As we surrender these areas to Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit begins changing us from the inside out, producing a life that reflects His character.

This Week's Challenge

Ask God to reveal one character trait that is hindering your spiritual growth. It may be pride, anger, bitterness, selfishness, fear, dishonesty, impatience, or unforgiveness. Surrender that area to Christ each day this week and ask the Holy Spirit to replace it with His character. True freedom comes when God changes us from the inside out.

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.”
Psalm 51:10

A Simple Prayer For Renewal
Father, I confess that I cannot change myself. I surrender my weaknesses and character defects to You. Through the power of Your Holy Spirit, remove everything that does not honor You and replace it with the character of Christ. Make me humble, honest, loving, forgiving, and obedient to Your Word. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
